Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, Kemal Hrnjić, together with his associates, met today with Siniša Šešum, Head of the UNESCO Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting focused on current issues in water management, with particular attention given to water protection, sustainable resource management, and potential projects that could drive further improvements in this sector across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minister Hrnjić briefed the UNESCO Office representatives on the activities and priorities of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry in the water management sector, underscoring the importance of international cooperation and experience-sharing in the search for quality, long-term solutions.
“Water protection is one of our key priorities. Preserving water resources, improving water management systems, and implementing development projects all require ongoing cooperation between all relevant institutions and partners,” stated Minister Hrnjić.
The meeting also saw Minister Hrnjić give particular attention to the Klokot water source near Bihać, stressing the need for its protection, while seeking clarity on progress toward listing the Martin Brod waterfalls as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
