Meeting on EU legislation alignment in veterinary sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry hosted the working meeting with the representatives of the Twinning Project “EU Support to Capacity Building and Gradual EU Acquis Alignment in the Veterinary Sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina”. Veterinary inspectors from the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs and the representatives of the cantonal ministries in charge of veterinary policies and environmental protection also attended the meeting.

As the project addresses the issues of animal byproducts, Anne Leboucher and Vlatka Tomašić, experts from France and Croatia respectively, shared their lessons learnt and know-how, and discussed with participants the current implementation status of the ABP Strategy Action Plan. They stressed the importance and role of the environmental sector in the establishment of the system of disposal and collection of animal byproducts.

Guidelines and activities on the establishment of this system were agreed, as well as the required training to be carried out aimed at public health protection.
