Minister Hrnjić Visits Powdered Milk Processing Plant Under Construction in Gradačac

The Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić visited the town of Gradačac today, where he held a meeting with the Mayor, Hajrudin Mehanović and toured the powdered milk processing plant currently under construction.

At the meeting, they discussed the state and prospects of agricultural production in the area of Gradačac, including the support measures continuously implemented by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry with the aim of strengthening domestic production and processing.

Over the past three years, agricultural producers and processors from the Gradačac area have received a total of 16.8 million BAM in support through various programs and measures of the Federal Ministry, confirming the commitment to the balanced development of agriculture and the strengthening of local capacities.

Minister Hrnjić pointed out that he is particularly pleased by the fact that new investments in modern production facilities, such as the powdered milk processing plant, are realized in the Gradačac area, which will add to the stability of milk production, added value potential, and the strengthening of the competitiveness of the domestic food industry.

“This is the first investment of its kind in the Federation of BiH and marks one of the steps in solving the problem of occasional milk surpluses on the market. By providing the possibility of processing milk into powder, this plant ensures stability for producers, reduces losses, and strengthens the entire dairy sector,” said Minister Hrnjić.

“Our goal is to maintain the growth trend in milk production and processing, and the 2026 subsidy program will support the entire dairy industry of the Federation to dry milk in the Gradačac plants as needed,” said Minister Hrnjić during today’s visit.

Mliječna industrija 99, the project investor, has so far received support from this Federal Ministry in an amount exceeding one million BAM. Over the past five years, these funds have been invested in the construction, expansion, and furnishing of new buildings, as well as in co-funding activities on networking business entities for connecting the supply of family farms and crafts in the Federation of BiH.

“The new milk drying plant has a capacity to dry one hundred tons of milk per day, converting it into approximately 8.5 tons of powder. The value of this investment is around four million BAM,” said Isad Djedović, Master of Food Technology and Production Manager at Mliječna industrija 99.

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry will continue to provide support to projects that contribute to the development of agricultural production, processing, and employment, with the aim of strengthening domestic production and rural development throughout the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
