Second visit to flooded areas in the Una-Sana Canton
Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić visited the flooded areas in Ključ, Sanski Most, Bihać and Bosanska Krupa in the Una-Sana Canton for the second time as part of the delegation of the Federation Government headed by Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić.
“The situation on the ground calls for urgent action to repair the damage as soon as possible. As I was here two days ago when the floods peaked, I immediately then requested that the FBiH Government provide support for flood mitigation measures. We also call for immediate deployment of the funds provided by the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to help those affected”, said Minister Hrnjić.
The Government of the Federation of BiH at its emergency session yesterday mobilized emergency funds in the amount of 500.000 KM to help four towns in the Una-Sana Canton, of which 150.000 KM each for Bihać, Bosanska Krupa and Sanski Most, and 50.000 KM for Ključ.
The Government tasked the Federal Civil Protection Administration and the Federal Civil Protection Task Force with mobilizing the federal rescue units at the request of cantonal civil protection administrations, and to make available all human and material-technical resources in order to provide assistance to the flooded areas. After floods retreat, the FBiH Government will review the situation and intervene accordingly to further assist the affected areas in the Federation of BiH.
