The Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry held today a meeting with the representatives of five municipalities and towns from the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina included in the new World Bank-funded Water Services Modernization Project in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. A project unit responsible for the implementation of this Project was established in the Ministry as one of the key preconditions for the implementation of the project, including the Component 3 concerning the infrastructure development in the local communities in FBiH.
Representatives of towns Tešanj, Gračanica, Široki Brijeg, Lukavac and Čitluk had expressed their interest in participating in this project in 2021, and as the funds for the project became effective, these municipalities were invited to discuss the steps to be taken for the implementation of infrastructure projects in these local communities.
The project is aimed at improving the water services of utility companies and the sustainable water use and protection in local communities.
The World Bank representatives discussed the requirements to be met by end borrowers. The Project Unit and the World Bank team expressed their commitment to cooperation and the provision of institutional and technical support in all activities to the communities involved in this project.
Other local communities that want to improve their water services sector have also been invited to express their interest for participation in this Project.
