Minister Hrnjić Attends Opening of 22nd International Ecology Fair EKOBIS in Bihać
Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić attended today the opening of the 22nd International Ecology Fair EKOBIS in Bihać.
The fair brought together 218 exhibitors across 115 stands from six countries of the region and Europe, confirming its importance as a venue for showcasing local industry, connecting the business community and creating new business opportunities.
Minister Hrnjić said the presence of numerous federal institutions and the support they are giving to this year’s EKOBIS sends a message that the Federation of BiH stands with the Una-Sana Canton.
“Today the Federation is showing here that it stands fully with the Una-Sana Canton. EKOBIS received support from as many as three ministries of the Federal Government, and there are also numerous federal institutions, companies, organizations and agencies that have contributed in various ways to keeping this fair alive and thriving,” Hrnjić said.
He stressed that this is an important event for connecting businesspeople and showcasing domestic products.
“I am confident that things have moved forward and that in the coming years the Federation will invest even more in the Una-Sana Canton when it comes to roads and all the projects we have already launched,” Hrnjić said.
He particularly highlighted the importance of buying local, calling on citizens to choose products that can be competitive on the local market in terms of both quality and price.
“It is true that our economy struggles to be competitive because of very powerful foreign competitors. However, my ministry also invests significant funds every year to help the economy become more competitive and to enable our producers to offer consumers the highest quality and affordable products possible, so that they are available on the shelves of our markets,” Hrnjić pointed out.
This year’s EKOBIS was opened by Mustafa Ružnić, Prime Minister of the Una-Sana Canton, and Samra Mehić, Minister of Economy of the Una-Sana Canton.
The fair will run until Sunday, September 13, and according to the organizers, visitors will be offered a rich program of events over the four days.
