Minister Hrnjić visits the construction site for modern farm Ratar in Bužim

Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić witnessed the initiation of the construction of a new modern farm “Ratar” owned by Vahid Alešević in Bužim.

This is a major investment that rests on many years of successful business operations of this small business and shows clear commitment of local agricultural producers to invest in the modernization of production, increasing capacity and improving conditions for livestock breeding.

The construction of new farm will follow modern standards and ensure better quality conditions for cattle breeding that will directly lead to the increase in milk production. Ultimately, the farm will house 60 high-yielding dairy animals, leading to significant increase in the current production capacities of this small business.

The construction of this farm is important not only for the development of the small business itself, but also for the overall improvement of agricultural production in the area of Bužim and the Una-Sana Canton. Modern conditions for keeping animals, better organization of production and investment in modern equipment allow for greater productivity, more stable production and a more competitive position for local producers.

“I am glad that today in Bužim we are witnessing the beginning of another significant investment in the agriculture sector. This is the third modern farm in construction that I visited in the last two years in this area. It is especially important that local producers have the courage and determination to invest in expanding their capacities and modernizing production. The construction of a farm with a capacity of 60 high-yielding dairy animals shows that this area boasts producers who want to remain in agriculture, develop their farms and create preconditions for long-term and sustainable production. Our goal is to create the best possible conditions for such investments through the measures of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry and to support producers who invest in increasing production. The Ministry aims to start cooperation with commercial banks to allow our farmers to start major investments and facilitate their access to funds. More investments like this and new modern production capacities throughout the Federation of BiH are expected in the coming period, because investments in modernization and increased production are precisely one of the key preconditions for the development and sustainability of the local agriculture sector,” said Minister Hrnjić, adding that such projects have multiple benefits, reflected in their contributions to increasing domestic milk production, strengthening food security, preserving jobs and keeping people in the countryside.

The owner of the farm “Ratar” Vahid Alešević pointed out that the construction of the new farm is the product of many years of efforts and investment in the development of production.

“For us, this is a very important day and a big step in the further development of our business. For years we have been investing in production and striving to create better conditions for cattle breeding and milk production. By building the new farm, we want to make another step forward and increase our production capacities. I especially point out that one of the sons returned to Bosnia and Herzegovina with his family, and the other is also thinking about it, which makes me very happy and joyful. I thank the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry, the Municipality of Bužim, our business partners and everyone who in any way helped this project begin. We hope that the farm will be completed within the planned deadlines and that we will very soon have the opportunity to see the results of this investment,” emphasized Alešević.

He added that the planned capacity of 60 dairy animals is a significant increase and that the new facility will enable better quality work, better conditions for the animals and greater milk production.

Aside from Federal Minister Kemal Hrnjić, the start of works was also attended by representatives of the Municipality of Bužim, which issued the necessary permits, making the project necessary, as well as the business partners of the farm “Ratar”.

The Municipality of Bužim emphasized that the local community seeks to be a partner to local business people and agricultural producers, especially when it comes to investments that contribute to the development of the local economy and the opening of new opportunities for the population.

The “Ratar” farm has successfully operated in the area of Bužim and the Una-Sana Canton for many years, and the new investment is a further step in the development and expansion of production.

Investments like this one also send an important message about the importance of investing in local agriculture. Increasing production capacities, modernizing farms and creating better quality conditions for farmers are the basis for a stronger and more competitive local farming sector.

The start of works on the “Ratar” farm is another tangible example of investment in agriculture in the area of the Una-Sana Canton and confirmation that domestic producers, with appropriate institutional and local support, continue to invest in their farms and the future of production.
