Ministers Pozder and Hrnjić meet with Nigerian Ambassador Dr. Modupe E. Irele

Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria H.E. Dr. Modupe E. Irele made her first official visit to the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and met with the Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism Nasiha Pozder and the Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić.

They discussed the possibilities of establishing cooperation in the fields of tourism, water management and agriculture, especially taking into account the fact that the Federal Republic of Nigeria has invested major efforts in the last 10 years to diversify its economy in the direction of investing in agriculture and tourism.

Discussions also focused on the topics that require support at the state level, such as facilitating the visa regime and opening new export routes, given that the Federal Republic of Nigeria, known for oil and natural gas, is also a large exporter of raw materials for the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries and nuts.

Ministers Hrnjić and Pozder highlighted BiH’s comparative advantages in food production, stressing that the opportunities and potentials in increasing food production have yet to be tapped.

Ambassador Irele also highlighted the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries on the exchange of experience and knowledge in the areas of water management, forests and other natural resources. They agreed to continue communication with the aim of strengthening the ties between the two countries, encouraging greater trade exchange and developing cooperation in the fields of tourism, food production and other related branches of the economy.
