Delegation of the Federation Government in Posavina Canton

The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić, together with Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić and Federal Minister of Spatial Planning Željko Nedić, visited the Posavina Canton.

They met with the Prime Minister of Posavina Canton Đuro Topić and the delegation of the Cantonal Government at the headquarters of the Government of Posavina Canton in Orašje. The discussion was focused on the current situation in the Posavina Canton, in particular on agriculture, as well as the acceleration of the construction of the Orašje-Tuzla highway.

Prime Minister Nikšić presented the current reform projects of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the representatives of the Posavina Canton. He particularly emphasized the Government’s commitment to achieving the goals of the fiscal reform. The federal prime minister elaborated on the reduction in labour costs and an increase in wages, especially the minimum wage. He added that the implementation of the law on income and contributions must be harmonized with online fiscalization, in terms of the approximate deadline for the budget to come into force, because the chosen approach can significantly affect the income of the Federation budget.

The Federal Prime Minister said that he was pleased to hear from the representatives of the Government of the Posavina Canton on their expectations from the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Discussing agricultural payments, he reiterated the commitment to ensuring immediate availability of the funds planned in this year’s budget, and that the additional funding would be available upon budget readjustment.

– Farmers will thus be granted funds that are particularly important to them in preparation for the planting season – said Prime Minister Nikšić.

Further discussions focused on road infrastructure, in particular the implementation of the Orašje-Tuzla highway construction project, as well as the Tuzla-Brčko-Orašje section.

The Prime Minister of the Posavina Canton Đuro Topić thanked the delegation for the support of the Government of the Federation and its commitment to help solve the current issues facing this area.

Following the meeting, Prime Minister Nikšić, Minister Hrnjić and Federal Minister Nedić laid a wreath at the memorial in the City Park in Orašje. The visit ended with the attendance at the ceremonial session of the Orašje City Council at the Cultural Center “Ivo Gregurević” Orašje.
