Minister Hrnjić with the World Bank representatives on providing assistance to flooded areas
The Federal Minister of Agriculture, Water Management and Forestry Kemal Hrnjić met today with the representatives of the World Bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Chaired by Augusto Garcia, senior agricultural specialist and team leader of the Agricultural Resilience and Competitiveness Project (ARCP), the meeting discussed the progress of activities within the ARCP project.
In addition to activities on the mentioned project, Minister Hrnjić pointed out the possibility of using the current ones or initiating new programs to help mitigate the flood effects on agricultural production in the flood-affected areas in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The commitment to support the recovery efforts in agriculture in the flood-affected areas through the World Bank-funded projects was also discussed at the meeting.
Mr. Garcia and colleagues pointed out the need for World Bank to receive a report on the state of agriculture in flooded areas so that an appropriate aid package can be prepared and communicated to the FBiH Government and other higher levels of government.
